What Can I Expect During Breast Reconstruction Surgery?
At Maglic Plastic Surgery, we offer an approach to breast reconstruction that combines implants with fat grafting for a more natural look and feel. To start, Dr. Maglic will extract unwanted fat from another area of your body using our facility's state-of-the-art VASER® liposuction device, which breaks up fatty deposits under the skin using gentle (but powerful) ultrasound energy. Once the fat tissues have been broken up, they'll be extracted using a hollow tube called a cannula. After that, we'll place the fat sample into a high-speed centrifuge, which will separate out the elements we don't need. During your procedure, Dr. Maglic will make incisions in your chest to insert the selected implants. Once they're in place, the extracted fat from your body will be injected back into the breasts to fill out areas and create a more natural appearance.

How much does breast reconstruction surgery cost?

Will insurance cover breast reconstruction surgery?
The Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) of 1998 requires insurance policies that cover mastectomies to also cover breast reconstruction surgery. What about nipple reconstruction?
Reconstruction of the nipple-areola complex is typically done with cosmetic tattooing. He will explain your options to help you decide whether you want 3D tattooing of the nipple and areola to to be included in your surgical plan.
Should I have reconstruction with my mastectomy or wait?
The timing of your breast reconstruction is based on several things. Some patients decide to have their breast(s) reconstructed at the same time as their mastectomy, while others prefer to wait.
